HISTORY

“Kabaya Caramel and the Kabaya Children’s Library—socially meaningful initiatives that form the foundation of our group.”

“We will do whatever it takes to revitalize Japan and enrich people’s lives.”

In the difficult postwar years, when goods were in short supply, our founder, Katsumi Nozu, set out to uplift Japan. He launched the Kabaya truck to deliver food and bring back smiles, and he established the Kabaya Children’s Library to support children’s futures through education.

Our commitment extended beyond the provision of food. These socially meaningful efforts are the origin of the Nippon Kabaya Ohayo Holdings Group and remain at the heart of what we value most.

Following Kabaya Caramel, we introduced “Juicy C,” a candy that provided an easy way to consume vitamin C, and “Big One Gum,” the first product in Japan to feature a toy as the main attraction in a confectionery display. Through such innovations, we created new product categories and inspired children's dreams.

We also helped introduce a “drinkable” yogurt culture in Japan with a groundbreaking container design and brought to market desserts such as our baked custard pudding made with fresh-cracked eggs, offering a level of quality that rivals homemade treats.

We continue to reflect on what true happiness means for people, striving to do what is beneficial for society and individuals alike. Remaining true to our origins, we are committed to delivering genuine value to the world.
